The Yukon
Overview & Highlights
Discover the mountains, icefields and indigenous communities of the Yukon’s northern wilderness on this 10-day fly drive.
Arriving in the capital Whitehorse, take a ride on an historic paddle steamer, then watch wildlife including elk, moose and bison at Yukon Wildlife Preserve. Opt for a kayaking excursion to spot bald eagles or a trip to Emerald Lake and the world’s smallest desert.
Then head north-west to Haines Junction, your base to explore incredible Kluane National Park. Half the size of Switzerland, Kluane contains ancient glaciers, spectacular trails, lakes and boreal forests overlooked by 17 of Canada’s highest peaks including Mount Logan. Take an unforgettable flightseeing tour over the park for breathtaking views then explore the landscapes on hikes and kayak trips.
Journey along the Alaska Highway crossing the border to Tok and enjoy some sledding in the Dog Mushing Capital of Alaska. Then take in wonderful scenery on the famous Top of the World Highway to Dawson City.
Explore Dawson City’s mining heritage, historic buildings and museums, then try panning for gold in Klondike rivers. Take an excursion to the Arctic tundra, alpine lakes and granite mountains of Tombstone Territorial Park, home to grizzlies, black bears, moose, caribou and wolves, then enjoy an evening excursion to the Top of the Midnight Dome for sweeping views.
Return to Whitehorse via Five Finger Rapids and a dip in Nordic Hot Springs as your Yukon adventure draws to a close.
This tour runs May to September when conditions are best. In June you can experience the wonder of the Midnight Sun in the Yukon.

Our expert's opinion
“The Yukon allows you to experience North America’s Arctic wilderness without the crowds found in popular parts of Alaska. Kluane National Park is definitely a highlight and a flightseeing tour really shows you the scale of this vast wilderness of mountains and glaciers.”
