Mid-May to mid-September is the best time to visit the Tombstone Territorial Park with the longest days and warmest temperatures, averaging 8-18°C. The park is open the rest of the year but the Interpretation Centre is closed and conditions are harsher. July is usually the warmest month but rain is more frequent in summer (June to August). Autumn (September) is a particularly attractive time to visit for the Fall colours. Winters are long from October to early April with shorter days, temperatures ranging from zero to -25°C, and snowfall heaviest November to February. September to April is the best time to see the Northern Lights with the clearest skies and longer nights.
