Maryland’s Eastern Shore FAQs

Find out all you need to know about visiting Maryland’s Eastern Shore.

When is the best time to visit Maryland’s Eastern Shore?

Thanks to a temperate year-round climate, Maryland’s Eastern Shore can be visited any time of the year. But to truly make the most of its pristine waters and outdoor fun, the best time to go to Maryland’s Eastern Shore is between late April to June and from late August to October. These months are pleasantly warm with highs around 25°C and less crowded than the summer months of July and August when domestic tourism is at its peak.

Summer can be a good time to visit Maryland’s Eastern Shore if you don’t mind the crowds as the cool ocean breezes will temper the hot, humid weather that occurs between mid-June and mid-August.

Come winter, the small towns of the Eastern Shore and the iconic boardwalk of Ocean City reinstate the buzz of the warmer months with light displays and holiday cheer, ensuring that the cooler months of November to February are still worth visiting if only for a relaxing weekend break.
