Deep South FAQs
Find out all you need to know about visiting Deep South.
When is the best time to visit Deep South?
The Deep South can be visited year-round thanks to its temperate climate. Spring and autumn are the best seasons to visit with pleasantly warm days, and cool nights. Summer tends to be hot and humid with temperatures occasionally reaching the high 30s. June to October is the main hurricane season along the coastal states, and along with that comes the occasional risk of a storm. Winter daytime temperatures get closer to zero the farther north in the region you travel, but snowfall is rare. Rainfall is common between November and February, but with so much to do indoors, the colder temperatures won’t detract from a good time.
What is the official language of Deep South?
English is the official language spoken in the Deep South, although French can be used in the state of Louisiana as it officially recognises both languages.
How do I manage my travel money in Deep South?
The United States Dollar (USD). Cash, credit, and debit cards are widely accepted, and cash machines are easy to access.
What places combine well with Deep South?
A short hop over to the state of Georgia, with its eclectic capital Atlanta is well worth a visit. The Carolinas – North and South – are two other nearby states with beautiful coastlines and plenty to see, eat and do.
