Take a Creole Cooking Class
Learn about Louisiana’s indigenous cuisine with a cooking class in New Orleans’ French Quarter.
Creole cuisine is a style of cooking that originated in Louisiana and blends French, Spanish, Southern, West African and Native American influences. Most dishes use a roux as a base and are based on the use of the ‘the holy trinity’ or a mix of bell pepper, celery and onion. Seafood, andouille sausage and rice are staples in the cuisine, and iconic dishes include gumbo, jambalaya and red beans and rice. Choose between a demonstration course or a hands-on course and indulge yourself in the unique tastes of this diverse style of cooking. Each course is around 3 hours and will immerse you in the flavours and histories of Creole food.
