Texas’ capital is a year-round destination boasting a wonderfully mild climate no matter the season. The best months to visit Austin are between March to May and September to November when the weather is at its best and the city is bustling with outdoor festivals and events – especially in spring. Daytime temperatures will range from 22°C to 30°C, offering incredible weather for outdoor exploration outside of the usual summer months. Summer in Austin is hot and humid with daytime highs between June and early September regularly reaching the mid-30s – proving challenging for both residents and visitors alike. Cool off in the city’s unique swimming hole, the Barton Springs Pool if you happen to be visiting during this time. Winter is temperate in Austin and any occasional cold spells are short-lived providing a welcome break from the winters in the UK. Expect daytime temperatures between December and February to reach a pleasant 18°C and drop to 8°C come evening.
