With 40 peaks rising over 10,000 feet, more than 700 miles of trails and more than 300 lakes created by receding alpine glaciers, the Sawtooth National Recreation Area is a prime location for outdoor recreational pursuits.
Go camping, hiking, backpacking or horse riding among the lush green forests and wildflower-dotted lands. The many mountain lakes with their crystal clear turquoise waters invite you for a swim – you’ll find some are actually hot springs as well. The larger lakes, like Redfish are idyllic spots for fishing, kayaking, paddle boarding and sitting on the beach. Photography opportunities are everywhere, and just taking in the beautiful surroundings will provide a sense of peace.
