Jackson Hole is more than the gateway to Grand Teton National Park, but a destination in itself. The heart of the valley is Jackson’s Town Square with its incredible Antler Arches at each corner. The town centre is lined with art galleries, murals, boutiques, restaurants, saloon bars and adventure sport shops.

Nearby Jackson Hole Mountain Resort is a haven for skiing in winter and popular for hiking and biking the rest of the year. The Aerial Tram, ascending more than 4,000 feet up the mountainside, is a highlight offering stunning panoramic views. At the base of the resort, Teton Village makes a lovely accommodation alternative to Jackson.

For wildlife enthusiasts looking for guaranteed viewings, visit the National Elk Refuge just north of town, home to 5,000 elk across 25,000 acres. The National Museum of Wildlife Art is also worth a visit for its diverse exhibition of wildlife paintings, sculptures and taxidermy.

Just a 45-minute drive from Jackson is the biggest draw of the region: Grand Teton National Park’s 310,000 acres of lush valleys, alpine lakes, diverse wildlife and jagged mountain peaks.
