When is the best time to visit Glenwood Springs?
Glenwood Springs is a four-season, year-round destination, so the best time to go really depends on what you’d like to do during your visit. We recommend visiting Glenwood Springs in the summer or autumn to get the most out of your stay, but winter and spring also have their merits.
The summer months of June to August are warm, sunny and full of opportunities for outdoor adventures like rafting the Colorado River, cycling lush trails and fishing in Gold Medal rivers. Daytime temperatures range from 24-32°C. Autumn in Glenwood Springs occurs between September and November and is a prime time to visit with its beautiful colours and big game mating season on show. Opportunities for skiing, snowboarding and snowmobiling abound, and a dip in one of the famous hot springs will prove more than welcome. Spring in Glenwood lasts from March to May and is characterised by mild, at times rainy weather. The flora and fauna come out of hibernation and the daytime temperatures range from 15-18°C.
