Mont Tremblant
Mont Tremblant is one of Quebec’s most stunning national parks with hiking and canoeing trails past lakes, waterfalls, mountains and beaches.
Named ‘trembling mountain’ by the indigenous Algonquins, Mont Tremblant is the highest peak in the Laurentians in one of Quebec’s most beautiful national parks.
Mont Tremblant National Park is a favourite summer retreat, famed for its rivers, lakes, forested peaks, waterfalls, beaches and canoeing and hiking trails. The park is home to some 40 mammal species including moose, deer, beavers and bears.
There is good rock climbing at Vache Noire near the park’s entrance and Meandres de la Diable (Devil’s meander) is one of the best canoeing routes.
The charming village of Mont Tremblant is located on the edge of Lake Mercer with boutiques, coffee shops, an art gallery and range of events during the summer.
The colourful alpine ski resort is a few kilometres north of the village at the foot of Mont Tremblant. It’s a haven for winter sports but equally alluring in summer with an attractive pedestrian village, and hiking and horse-riding trails.
