Overview & Highlights
An enticing mix of vibrant cities and breathtaking natural beauty, the Pacific Northwest is the one region of the United States where raw, unspoiled wilderness is always found within a few miles of any metropolis. Concentrated around the states of Oregon and Washington, with parts continuing south into Northern California, you’ll see everything from misty beaches and lush forests to wooded mountains and world-famous cities starting your journey in Seattle and ending in San Francisco.
Arrive in Washington’s waterside city of Seattle. Home to world famous coffee and historic landmarks like Pike Place Market and the iconic Space Needle, you’ll get two days to explore this Pacific metropolis before heading out of the city to the beguiling peaks and alpine environs of Mount Rainier. You’ll then head down to one of the West Coast’s coolest and greenest cities, Portland, and discover its sensational parks, and thriving craft beer and culinary scene while making day trips to the stunning scenery of the nearby Columbia River Gorge. Cross over to Oregon’s otherworldly coast for an overnight stay in Newport before heading to the stunning beauty of Crater Lake National Park. You’ll spend two days exploring this sapphire blue wonder before driving down to California’s beautiful and serene Mendocino Coast. One night will be spent in Crescent City and the other in Fort Bragg – each offering unspoiled coastal scenery and plenty of opportunities for outdoor adventure. You’ll then continue on to the heart of California’s internationally renowned wine country: Sonoma. Spend two days wine tasting, fine dining and hiking or cycling through the lush meadows and vineyards of Sonoma Valley before arriving in your final stop, San Francisco. One of the world’s most famous cities, you’ll get the opportunity to see it from the Golden Gate Bridge and the heart of the city’s centre, rounding off your breathtaking stay in the exquisite Pacific Northwest.

Our expert's opinion
“The Pacific Northwest is a region all of its own and you’ll find this unique part of the USA is unlike anything else across the country. You’ll find unspoiled wilderness sits just minutes from progressive cities and the ecological diversity is outstanding. From forests and mountains to canyons and waterfalls – there’s even a beautiful coastline! There’s a real emphasis on farm-fresh food and the wine regions are exceptional. This itinerary is so all-encompassing, you really will see the very best of the Pacific Northwest.”
