Overview & Highlights
A beacon of the Pacific Northwest, Washington state is known for its diverse geography, endless opportunities for outdoor recreation and iconic West Coast metropolis, Seattle. From high tech industry and outstanding natural beauty to award-winning agriculture and a wine country that is second only to California, Washington state is a progressive place with a lot to offer. You’ll start and end your journey in Seattle, seeing the very best of Washington at multiple stops along the way.
Arrive in Washington’s waterside city of Seattle. Home to world famous coffee and historic landmarks like Pike Place Market and the iconic Space Needle, you’ll get three days to explore this Pacific metropolis before heading out of the city to the glacier-tipped mountain peaks and old-growth rainforests of Olympic National Park.
You’ll spend three days on the Olympic Peninsula – first at Port Angeles, then at Lake Quinault – enjoying the majestic nature of the region. Then, you’ll start a road trip over to Washington’s world-class wine country, breaking up the journey with an overnight stay next to the beautiful Mount St Helens National Volcanic Monument on your way there. The next two days will be in the heart of Washington’s burgeoning wine industry, Richland, on the banks of the tranquil Columbia River.
You’ll then drive to the Cascade Mountains for another two night stay – this time in the Bavarian-styled town of Leavenworth, where mountain splendour and delightful drinking and dining await. End your trip with a spa retreat in the Seattle suburbs before returning home. You’ll feel rested and relaxed after a stay in the wonderful state of Washington.
