The best months to visit Crater Lake National Park are July, August and September when the weather is at its most stable and the park’s roads, trails and facilities are fully open. Temperatures will be mild, warm and ideal for outdoor exploration. The park is open year-round, but you’ll find that most of the park is closed in winter and spring due to deep snow and unsafe conditions. May and June are months of transition in the park, as winter slowly gives way to summer. These months can bring sunny skies or severe snowstorms, so come prepared for either if you plan to visit during this period.
