Niagara-on-the-Lake Winery and Tasting
Take a guided tour of Château des Charmes winery and vineyard, sampling some of Niagara-on-the-Lake’s finest wines.
Château des Charmes offers educational tours exploring the journey of grapes from the vineyard to the glass.
Guided walking tours begin with an introduction to the Bosc family, fifth generation wine-growers who run Château des Charmes. Then continue into St. David’s Bench Vineyard (weather permitting) for an overview of sustainable winegrowing.
Then visit the Harvest Room where the grapes are destemmed, crushed and fermented, before going underground to the cellars to see where the young wine ages in French oak barrels or stainless steel. Tastings included.
Niagara-on-the-Lake is in one of Canada’s foremost wine regions, surrounded by vineyards. The town is particularly famous for its ice wine, a sweet dessert wine produced from grapes frozen on the vine.
