Explore the USA

Whether you’re looking for breathtaking landscapes or thrilling cities, world-class culture or peaceful contemplation, you’ll find countless opportunities for exploration in the United States of America.

The third-largest country in the world, few places offer a more varied landscape, climate, culture and people than can be found in the USA. Each region has something truly unique to offer and with many states themselves the size of countries, the possibilities for exploration are endless. Sprawling cities compete with breathtaking landscapes for your attention. World-class museums, including those highlighting America’s storied past are worth a trip in and of themselves. Dining is exceptional with incredible regional and international cooking found in every state. Art, culture and music abound across the country, and awe-inspiring nature can be found at every turn.

Getting between places is easy with extensive highway networks in every state, burgeoning public transport options across the country and short domestic flights that will get you from one city to the next in a jiffy. But if you can drive, America was made for road trips. Filled with vast open roads, awe-inspiring scenery, charming towns, curious pitstops, and delightful destinations that make the journey worth every mile – you won’t even mind the odd traffic jam, some of which are legendary.

See staggering views of the Grand Canyon, hike Utah’s otherworldly national parks, hear a couple of songs in a dive bar in Tennessee, delve into Civil War history along the Mississippi, feel the excitement of the Las Vegas strip, drive the famed Route 66 and sit back and relax on a golden Hawaiian beach. The mainstream offers only a glimpse of what the USA truly has to offer so discover it for yourself with a tailor made trip. Here at Journeyscape, we’ll help you discover another side to America.

Best time to go - USA

The climate is wide and varied

Few countries, if any, can boast the full range of climates and varying types of terrain the world has to offer, but in the USA, there’s a climate and place for literally every visitor. From the glaciers of Alaska and the deserts of Arizona to the rolling prairies of the Midwest, the majestic Rocky Mountains and the pristine, sun-soaked beaches of California, Florida and Hawaii, the land across the United States is nothing short of spectacular.

Summer is the best time to visit the nation’s many national parks as well as the more northern regions of the United States – with May and June being especially pleasant with colourful flora, active fauna and temperatures in the low 20s. The northern part of the USA has a consistent climate from coast to coast with defined seasons dictating every few months of the year.

Winter can be pleasant or freezing cold depending on where you choose to visit, and heavy snowfall and frozen lakes are common across the northern regions of the country. Most southern states and the Hawaiian Islands offer winter warmth and respite from the cold winters in the UK, while certain parts like Lake Tahoe, Colorado and Wyoming offer excellent ski resorts for those who don’t mind a few feet of snow.

The southern regions of the USA have almost indistinguishable seasons, albeit with distinct regional differences. The climate is generally more arid towards the west and more humid towards the east. Winter tends to be mild; spring and autumn are warm, and summer is always hot.

Throughout the USA, spring and autumn are mild and pleasant, and are great periods to visit as one can avoid any extremes in temperature. These seasons are also full of festivals and events, and nature comes to life with many places blossoming beautifully in spring and changing into glorious displays of colour come autumn.
