Twillingate is known as the Iceberg Capital of the World, one of the best places to see glacial giants floating offshore.

With its iconic Long Point Lighthouse, Twillingate makes a great base for taking cruises in Iceberg Alley to see these ancient masses of ice floating by.

This island town is one of the best viewing points to see 10,000-year-old icebergs – from May to July either on boat trips or from the shore, with peak time from late May to mid-June.

The town itself has several historical attractions, including the Beothuk Interpretation Centre, documenting the region’s indigenous past, and Prime Berth Fishing Museum, charting local maritime history.

Just outside town at Crow Head, the red-and-white Long Point Lighthouse is a famous landmark, dating from 1876.
