St John’s, Fogo and Change Islands, Twillingate, Gros Morne National Park
Explore wild, unique Newfoundland on this 12-day fly-drive – from spectacular fjords and mountains in Gros Morne National Park to huge icebergs floating past Twilingate, and oceans filled with whales and puffins off St John’s.
Begin your trip in Rocky Harbour on Newfoundland’s west coast, the best base to explore the majestic landscapes of Gros Morne National Park. Discover the mesmerising scenery of this UNESCO World Heritage Site on boat trips and hikes, while learning of the local indigenous traditions.
Then head to the east coast to Iceberg Alley in Twilingate, one of the best places in the world to see ancient icebergs float by, and explore the rugged beauty of historic Fogo Island, home to one of the world’s most unique hotels.
Further south, visit Gander and learn about the role the town played in helping those affected by 9/11. Stop off at the iconic red-and-white lighthouse of Bonavista where explorer John Cabot first sighted land in 1497, before reaching the city of St John’s.
Enjoy a historic tour of Newfoundland’s capital, take an unforgettable boat trip to watch humpback whales and North America’s largest Atlantic puffin colony, then finish your journey by indulging in the city’s many pubs and seafood restaurants.
