When is the best time to visit White Mountains?

White Mountains is a year-round destination but the best time to visit is May to October when the weather is warmest and sunniest, albeit with some rain. Summer (June-August) has average temperatures of 18-26°C, while autumn (September-October) is the best time to explore the countryside for the spectacular Fall colours, especially in October. Spring (April-May) ranges from cold to mild with temperatures from 5-15°C. Winter (November-March) sees temperatures from 7°C down to -10°C with snow most common December-February.

What is the time difference between the UK and White Mountains?

White Mountains uses Eastern Standard Time (GMT – 5), observing Daylight Saving Time (GMT – 4) March to November.

What places combine well with White Mountains?

One of the biggest advantages of holidaying in New England is the relatively short distance between destinations by US standards. White Mountains are easily combined with elsewhere in New Hampshire and New England. Portsmouth is two hours’ drive south-east and Boston just over three hours south. Portland in Maine is two hours south-east, while Stowe and the Green Mountains in Vermont are two hours north-west.
