When is the best time to visit Plymouth?
Plymouth is a year-round destination but the best time to visit is May to October when the weather is warmest and sunniest. This is also whale-watching season, which peaks in June-August. Summer (June-August) has average temperatures of 20-27°C and can get very hot, while autumn (September-October) is the best time to explore the countryside for the spectacular Fall colours, especially in October. Spring (April-May) ranges from cold to mild with temperatures from 4-15°C and frequent showers. Winter (November-March) has temperatures from 7°C down to -5°C with snow most common December-February, especially in mountainous regions.
What is the time difference between the UK and Plymouth?
Plymouth uses Eastern Standard Time (GMT – 5), observing Daylight Saving Time (GMT – 4) March to November.
What places combine well with Plymouth?
One of the biggest advantages of holidaying in New England is the relatively short distance between destinations by US standards. Boston is only 40 minutes’ drive north of Plymouth, Cape Cod is half an hour away, Salem is 1.5 to the north-east, while the Berkshires are 2.5 hours west.
