See the world’s largest land carnivore up close on an unforgettable autumn adventure to Churchill in Canada’s Manitoba province, one of the world’s premier locations to watch polar bears.
Churchill is a uniquely spellbinding place where bears gather on the shoreline of Hudson Bay in autumn and it’s possible to view them up close from the safety of specialist tundra vehicles.
This tour begins in Manitoba capital Winnipeg before flying up to Lazy Bear Lodge in Churchill on Hudson Bay. There is then time to relax and explore a town where polar bears often outnumber people.
Over the next two days, take the Arctic Crawler all-terrain vehicle into the Churchill Wildlife Management Area where the bears wait for the winter icepack to freeze on Hudson Bay, offering incredible close viewing of their behaviour. In the evening, enjoy a dog mushing experience on a sled ride.
Finish your time in Churchill with a cultural and heritage tour, visiting Cape Merry and the polar bear holding facility before flying back to Winnipeg and staying overnight as your tour ends.
