The Canadian Museum for Human Rights is one of the city’s newest attractions – an impressive glass building with 11 interactive exhibitions which lead up to the 100-metre Tower of Hope, commanding sweeping views over the city.
The Forks where the Red and Assiniboine rivers converge has a huge food market and parks across 54 acres. In winter, when the two rivers freeze over, they can form one of the longest skating rinks in the world.
The shores and beaches of Lake Winnipeg are just over half an hour’s drive from the city, an ideal excursion in summer.
