Lazy Bear Lodge

This Arctic retreat in the heart of Churchill offers an authentic, homely atmosphere and a myriad of unique adventures in the surrounding wilderness.

Relax into the Arctic charm of Lazy Bear Lodge, a handcrafted labour of love. The lodge is built with 90% recycled logs and materials from local historic buildings including 1800's Hudson Bay Trading Post windows.

The lodge offers a range of incredible excursions - from polar bear tours on the custom-built Arctic Crawler tundra vehicle to beluga whale boat trips and star-gazing tours to experience the ethereal Northern Lights.

The Lazy Bear Café sources ingredients from the local area, including the lodge's own organic greenhouse, and showcases specialties of the region, including arctic char, braised elk and roasted Manitoba bison.

The lodge offers packages in summer to combine watching polar bears with seeking out beluga whales, while autumn is the prime time to see the Northern Lights and watch polar bears gather on the shoreline waiting for Hudson Bay waters to freeze over.
