Sport is a massive part of life in America, and if you’re interested in baseball, basketball or American football, you’ll be in for a treat when visiting the East Coast. Massachusetts, New York, Pennsylvania and Washington D.C boast some of the most iconic sporting venues in the world so make sure to visit them for a unique slice of American culture.

Boston, Massachusetts

Fenway Park is the home of Major League Baseball’s nine-time World Series champions, the Boston Red Sox. Visit with one of the many tours on offer, including an hour-long guided tour where you can learn about the team, ballpark, and player history, or the Game Day Premium Tour where you can have your photo taken on the warning track.

Stadium tours of the New England Patriots’ Gillette Stadium, are only available to event attendees, so book tickets for when the team are playing at home to get in.

New York City, New York

Baseball fans won’t want to miss a chance to visit the home of the New York Yankees – unless their favourite team is the Boston Red Sox! The team have won an astonishing 27 World Series, and many consider them to be the greatest baseball team of all time. Take a tour of the Yankee Stadium to visit iconic locations, such as Monument Park, learn about legends past and present, and see baseball memorabilia up close.

If you’re a New York Mets fan, then head to Citi Field in the borough of Queens. The Amazin’ Artifacts Tour allows you to hold memorabilia that was used by some of the games’ biggest names, while the general tour gives you access to the press conference room and warning track among other locations.

If you really want to dive into American sports culture, then a visit to Madison Square Garden is a must. This multi-purpose entertainment venue hosts top sports teams including the NBA’s New York Knicks and the NHL’s New York Rangers. Other sports played here include boxing, pro wrestling and mixed martial arts.

Basketball game

One of the largest stadiums in the NFL, with a capacity of 82,500, the MetLife Stadium is home to two American football teams, the New York Giants and the New York Jets. A one-time host of the Super Bowl, this stadium is already billed to host the FIFA World Cup Final in 2026. Stop by for a tour for locations which are not usually accessible to fans, including the Press Box, the Commissioner’s Club, and the field itself!

Philadelphia, Pennsylvania

Visit the home of two-time World Series champions, the Philadelphia Phillies, at Citizens Bank Park. Guests visiting this spectacular ballpark will enjoy an audiovisual presentation before touring the park with stops at the Phillies’ dugout, Broadcast Booth, and Hall of Fame Club.

Philadelphia is also home to the 2018 NFL Super Bowl champions, the Philadelphia Eagles. Choose between a guided or self-guided tour at Lincoln Financial Field to see the field, the Eagles’ locker room, team tunnel, and post-game interview room.

Washington D.C

Take a behind-the-scenes look at Nationals Park, home of MLB team the Washington Nationals. The in-depth 2-hour tour will take you to the warning track, dugout, bullpen, and even a luxury suite.

Baseball Game

The USA’s capital city is also home to three-time Super Bowl champions, the Washington Redskins. The team plays at FedEx Field in Maryland, about five miles east of Washington, D.C. Tours are offered at this combined ballpark and concert venue, but check availability when planning your trip.
