Enjoy this dark and delicious classic, which may or may not have been invented in Louisville, Kentucky (depending on which story version you hear). The drink we enjoy today has evolved over the years from an early mixed drink called the Whiskey Cocktail which was first created in the 1700’s.

Recipe serves: 1
INGREDIENTS
- 1 tsp granulated sugar
- 1-2 dashes of bitters
- Splash of water
- Ice
- 60ml scotch whisky or bourbon
- Garnish: slice of orange and a cherry
INSTRUCTIONS
- Add the sugar, bitters and water into a mixing glass and stir until the sugar dissolves
- Fill the mixing glass with ice, add the whisky, and stir until well-chilled
- Strain into a rocks glass over a large ice cube
- Garnish with a slice of orange and a cherry
