Monument Valley Hiking Tour

Go off the beaten track in Monument Valley with a private hiking tour.

An iconic symbol of the American West and the heart of the Navajo Nation, Monument Valley is still as raw, natural and unspoiled as it was hundreds of years ago. The setting for hundreds of Western movies, its unique sandstone formations are instantly recognizable the world over, and most of the scenic locations within Monument Valley are found within the Monument Valley Navajo Tribal Park. Visitors can drive the bone-jarring 17 mile dirt road loop through the park, but most areas of the valley, such as Ear of the Wind, can only be accessed by guided tours and visitors must stay on the valley road unless accompanied by a Navajo guide. Taking a similar route to the popular jeep tour, this hiking tour is mostly on foot and is a moderate hiking experience requiring a basic level of fitness. You will pass through 30+ miles of secluded off-roads with a Navajo guide to discover the restricted area that is the backcountry of Monument Valley. This land is a notable sacred site for the Navajos, who are the Keepers of Monument Valley – known as the Dineh. A wonderful opportunity for visitors who would like to see all the iconic sites up close, this ‘Off the Beaten Track’ Hiking Tour will be an unforgettable educational experience.
