Moab FAQs

Find out all you need to know about visiting Moab.

When is the best time to visit Moab?

The best time to go to Moab is during the months of March to May and September to October when the temperatures are warm but pleasant, and the main festivals are underway. Winter can also be a good time to explore as the average high in December and January is 7°C, which some hikers find pleasant. Nights can be quite cold though, so come prepared with the right gear.

Summer is the low season in Moab as it gets very hot with temperatures up to 40°C. That said, if you don’t mind being an early riser or taking a twilight hike, Moab can still be a great place for outdoor fun – rafting and paddling in the nearby river will be welcome.
