El Tovar Hotel
A National Historic Landmark hotel on the rim of the Grand Canyon.
Built in 1905, El Tovar Hotel is the oldest hotel still operating within Grand Canyon National Park and was designed as a cross between a Swiss chalet and a Norwegian villa. Often regarded as one of the most elegant lodges west of the Mississippi River, it has previously hosted the likes of Theodore Roosevelt, Albert Einstein and Paul McCartney.
Located directly on the canyon rim, El Tovar offers spectacular views of the natural wonder and easy access to hiking trails and scenic overlooks. The hotel features a fine dining room (complete with a dress code), a lounge, a liquor store and a patio. Due to the hotel’s historic nature, no two rooms are alike, giving the hotel a distinctive character. Each comes fitted with king or queen-size beds, full-size baths and essential amenities.
