When is the best time to visit Antelope Canyon?

Antelope Canyon is open year-round so it can be visited any time of the year and still be an enjoyable experience, but the best time to go is between the months of March through October, when the canyon’s famous beams of light can be seen most clearly. In terms of the best time of day to visit, going between 11am and 1pm gives you the highest chance of witnessing the rays of light, which is one of the main features of this slot canyon.

Weatherwise, the climate in Antelope Canyon is much like the rest of the Southwest: warm, pleasant spring and autumn seasons, hot summers and chilly winters.

What places combine well with Antelope Canyon?

Zion National Park and Lake Powell both combine well with a trip to Antelope Canyon thanks to their geographical proximity. Before or after a visit to Antelope Canyon, one can also easily travel around the state of Arizona to see the Grand Canyon and/or stop for a few nights in one of the major cities like Phoenix, Scottsdale or Flagstaff.
