Weather

The best time to visit the North-East USA is May to October when the weather is warmest and sunniest. Summer (June-August) has average temperatures of 20-28°C and can get very hot, while autumn (September-October) is the best time to explore the countryside for the Fall colours. Spring (March-May) ranges from cold to mild, while winter (November-March) has temperatures from 10°C down to -10°C with snow common December-February, and heaviest inland in mountainous regions such as the Adirondacks.

Altitude

The Catskills and Adirondacks have terrain over 1,000 metres so pace yourself and be prepared with warm clothing.
