Discover The Mississippi Civil Rights Museum
Learn about the trials and tribulations of the Civil Rights Movement in Mississippi.
Recently opened to document, exhibit and educate the public about the American Civil Rights Movement in the U.S. state of Mississippi between 1945 and 1970, this wonderfully designed museum shows how far America has come as a nation in the struggle for Civil Rights and how far the country still must go.
As you walk through the carefully curated exhibits, you’ll be taken aback by the painful past and terror Black people faced from segregationist and white supremacists (like the KKK) prior to the signing of the Civil Rights Act of 1968, but this insightful, inspirational and at times emotional past is well worth a visit.
