Built in the late 1820s and updated in the 1840s, Anchuca is a National Historic Landmark and the first columned mansion in Vicksburg. A stay here offers access the mansion’s beautiful grounds, and guests can also take a tour to learn more about the property’s unique history.
The name Anchuca comes from a Native American word meaning “happy home”, and that’s exactly what you will find here. The mansion features spacious rooms with period furnishings and original artworks. There’s a historic library, a parlour, and a beautiful veranda with views of the garden’s tranquil fountain. Make sure to stop by Cafe Anchucha too during your stay – it’s a fine dining Southern restaurant with a great filet mignon.
