Plantation in Deep South USA

Plantation Country FAQs

Find out all you need to know about visiting Plantation Country.

When is the best time to visit Plantation Country?

The best time to go to Plantation Country in Louisiana is during the warmer months when the region can showcase its lush flora. Spring is one of the best times to visit with the flowers in new bloom and moderate temperatures in the low to mid 20s. Summer is hot with temperatures reaching the low 30s, but the plantation owners figured out how to cool down in the heat long ago, so you won’t find yourself suffering. Autumn remains warm with September still in the high 20s and November finishing in the mid to high teens. The greenery also changes for the season making the region incredibly picturesque that time of year. If you do plan to travel during the winter, the temperatures tend to range between the mid-teens and single digits but lift just enough in time for Mardi Gras in February should you wish to combine the two on your trip.
