The birthplace of some of modern music’s most endearing genres, America’s Deep South is a music lover’s dream: Louisiana has the birthplace of Jazz, Mississippi has the birthplace of Blues, Alabama has renowned recording studios, Tennessee has Elvis, and Nashville has all things Country. Get immersed in the Deep South’s musical heritage with this in-depth journey starting in Nashville and ending in New Orleans.
Begin your journey in Nashville, America’s Music City, and home to one of the world’s most impressive music scenes. Get immersed in Country music with a visit to the Country Music Hall of Fame & Museum and a live concert at the Grand Ole Opry, and take in the sounds of Rock n Roll, Soul and Blues at your leisure in the innumerable honkytonks around the city. You’ll then delve into music history with a visit to the FAME Recording Studios in Muscle Shoals. Alabama’s music capital, this is the place where the Soul and R&B sounds of the Sixties and Seventies were born. Continue to Memphis to see Graceland, the iconic home of Elvis Presley, and continue your musical journey on the famed Beale Street. Afterwards, you’ll stop at the “crossroads of the Blues”, Clarksdale and stay overnight in the beautiful antebellum town of Vicksburg along the Mississippi.
You’ll then head to your final stop, New Orleans. The indisputable birthplace of Jazz, New Orleans is the perfect place to finish your musical journey through the Deep South.
