Opened by American music producer, Rick Hall in the 1960s, FAME Recording Studios and its surrounding town of Muscle Shoals would go on to become legends of the music industry. On this tour you will find out just why this recording studio on the banks of the Tennessee River became a mecca for artists who wanted to focus on their music without the distractions of major recording cities like New York and Los Angeles. Artists that would go on to be great names made their first recordings there, including Etta James, Aretha Franklin Arthur Alexander, Percy Sledge, Otis Redding and many more. At FAME, the stories of the musicians who came together to create the unique sound that is Muscle Shoals Sound continues today, and there’s no better way to experience it than with a stop by the studio.
