Visit the Memphis music studio dubbed “the birthplace of Rock ‘n’ roll”.

Memphis has more iconic recording studios than most cities have studios at all, so visit one of the places that helped shape American popular music: Sun Studio. Renowned as “the birthplace of Rock ‘n’ roll”, it is the discovery location of musical legends and genres of the 1950s from BB King and Elvis Presley to Johnny Cash and Jerry Lee Lewis, and from Blues to Gospel to Rock ’n’ roll.

Take a 40-minute guided tour – given by a local musician – to see priceless memorabilia, listen to outtakes from recording sessions and hear the inside stories of music legends, like BB King, Ike Turner, Johnny Cash, Carl Perkins, Elvis and Roy Orbison.

Sun Studio carries original 45’s and 78’s from their label so make sure to stop by the gift shop on your way out.
