Clarksdale’s oldest existing building is a top choice for immersing yourself in the birthplace of the blues. This elegant inn was built in 1859 by John Clark, the founder of Clarksdale, and is listed on the National Register of Historic Places.

It’s home to cozy rooms with rocking chairs and a swing on each porch, as well as antiques, memorabilia, and photos that reflect the history and charm of the Mississippi Delta throughout its grounds. Enjoy the views of the historic Cutrer Mansion with an evening drink while the sun sets.

The inn has hosted many famous blues musicians, including Muddy Waters, John Lee Hooker, and Robert Johnson. A true Southern gem, with a comfortable, relaxed, and elegant atmosphere, Clark House Inn is a home away from home with plenty of charm.
