Savannah FAQs

Find out all you need to know about visiting Savannah.

When is the best time to visit Savannah?

Savannah benefits from mild weather year-round making it an ideal destination no matter the season. Plan your visit when the weather is at its best, which happens to be between the months of September to November and March to May – the latter offering a sight to see with thousands of azaleas blooming throughout the city every spring. These months offer warm, sunny days and pleasant, cool nights perfect for exploring with daytime highs between 20°C and 27°C. Summer in Savannah, like much of the South, brings intense heat and humidity with daytime temperatures reaching up to 32°C, but if you can tolerate it, do know that Savannah has spectacular beaches on Tybee Island just a 15 minute drive from downtown for cooling off. Winter brings cooler albeit still mild temperatures with highs between December and February around 15°C.
