When is the best time to visit Hilton Head Island?

Hilton Head Island is an ideal summer destination with outdoor and water activities to delight all tastes. The best time to visit this incredible island is between the months of May and September when the weather will be perfect for spending time outdoors. Daytime highs will range from 23°C in the shoulder months to up to 32°C in July. Hilton Head Island’s coastal location as a barrier island means that the Gulf Stream keeps the island mild in winter and tolerable during the summer. November to April is considered the low season when visitors focus more on the excellent shopping and dining the island has to offer. Expect daytime highs during these months to range between 9°C and 19°C.
