Charleston Walking Tour

Founded in 1670, Charleston is a city steeped in history, having originally served as a strategically placed port serving the region’s plantations before quickly becoming the commercial and cultural heart of South Carolina, and the epicentre of the American Civil War. Completed in 1713, this building was originally used for gunpowder storage during the American Revolution, and is now considered South Carolina’s oldest government building.
