Charleston Walking Tour

Discover some of Charleston’s most enchanting alleys and hidden passages on a small group tour.

Founded in 1670, Charleston is a city steeped in history, having originally served as a strategically placed port serving the region’s plantations before quickly becoming the commercial and cultural heart of South Carolina, and the epicentre of the American Civil War. As with any city that has an illustrious past, there are plenty of opportunities to go off the beaten path when exploring Charleston’s history – like on this Hidden Alleyways and Historic Sites Small-Group Walking Tour.

Over this intimate 2-hour tour you will get an up-close and in-depth look at Charleston’s rich history through its iconic cobbled pedestrian passageways that can be found all over the city. You’ll get to traverse between four to six different alleyways as well as popular points of interest like colourful houses of Rainbow Row and the Old Exchange and Provost Dungeon.

Included in this tour is an admission ticket for the Powder Magazine Museum which you can visit at your leisure before or after the tour. Completed in 1713, this building was originally used for gunpowder storage during the American Revolution, and is now considered South Carolina’s oldest government building.
