Blue Ridge Parkway FAQs

Find out all you need to know about visiting Blue Ridge Parkway.

When is the best time to visit Blue Ridge Parkway?

The best time to visit the Blue Ridge Parkway is between March and October, as parts of the drive will not be accessible the rest of the year because of wintery conditions. Autumn is the best time to visit as the Blue Ridge Parkway comes to life with leaves bursting into spectacular colours and blanketing the landscapes as far as the eye can see. Spring is equally beautiful as the region comes into bloom, and daytime highs during both seasons are around 16°C to 20°C. Summer is warm and sunny with daytime highs up to 29°C. The different elevations along the Parkway can cause changeable weather so expect fluctuations in temperature no matter what time of year you visit.
