Atlanta City

Atlanta FAQs

Find out all you need to know about visiting Atlanta.

When is the best time to visit Atlanta?

Georgia’s vibrant capital, Atlanta benefits from a mild climate year-round, making it an ideal holiday destination no matter the season. The best time to visit Atlanta is from March to May and September to October when the weather is at its best and multiple world-class festivals are on in the city. Daytime highs range from 17°C to 27°C with plenty of sun – perfect for exploring the city – and in the autumn Atlanta’s title as the ‘City in the Forest’ pays offs with visitors rewarded with stunning colours across the city’s many green spaces. Summer and winter are considered the low season in Atlanta mainly due to the weather and the slowing down of the events season. Summer in Atlanta is hot and humid with temperatures between June and August regularly going up to 32°C. Winter is mild compared to northern states with daytime highs ranging from 11°C to 17°C, and parts of the city, including the Atlanta Botanical Garden, Callaway Gardens and more, are beautifully decorated with Christmas light displays.
