There is a range of winter and summer events in the cities. Whitehorse has the Yukon Quest, a 1000-mile dog sled race to Alaska, and the Frostbite Music Fest in February. In July, the city holds the Adäka Cultural Festival, a First Nations festival. Dawson City has a busy summer events season including the Dempster to Dawson Solstice Race, Yukon Riverside Arts Festival and Dawson City Music Festival. Discovery Days is one of the biggest festivals with parades, arts and dance to mark the Klondike Gold Rush, while the Moosehide Gathering is one of the biggest indigenous festivals. In the Southern Lakes, Marsh Lake holds the Celebration of Swans to mark the bird migration in April.
