Enjoy an incredible wildlife experience in the splendid isolation of Churchill in Canada’s Manitoba province, one of the world’s premier locations to watch polar bears.
Churchill is a uniquely spellbinding place where the world’s largest land carnivores gather on the shoreline of Hudson Bay in autumn and it’s possible to view them up close from the safety of specialist tundra vehicles.
This tour begins in Manitoba capital Winnipeg before flying up to Churchill on Hudson Bay. There is then time to relax and explore a town where polar bears often outnumber people.
Enjoy a dog-sled ride and learn about the animals’ training before transferring to the Churchill Wildlife Management Area, staying at Tundra Buggy Lodge.
Over the next three days, you will explore the area in unique Tundra Buggies, equipped with heating and washrooms. Travel in this all-terrain vehicle to where the bears wait for the winter icepack to freeze on Hudson Bay, offering incredible close viewing of their behaviour. Your tour ends by flying back to Winnipeg, staying overnight with optional time to explore Manitoba’s capital.
