Churchill on the edge of Hudson Bay is known as the polar bear capital of the world, but also home to more than 50,000 beluga whales, best viewed on a summer cruise or kayaking trip. Churchill is also one of the best places in Canada to view the Northern Lights, visible most of the year.
The capital Winnipeg is a multicultural city with busy summer festivals and a range of historical attractions such as the Canadian Museum of Human Rights and its 100-meter Tower of Hope. Another highlight is Canada’s largest indoor waterfall and the diverse flora in the biomes of The Leaf in Assiniboine Park, while the food market at The Forks offers a wonderful range of cuisine.
