British Columbia

From inspiring cities to millions of acres of rainforest prowled by bears and wolves, Pacific waters brimming with whales and the dramatic Canadian Rockies filled with moose and elk, British Columbia is a beacon of eco-tourism, proudly preserving its wild, untamed natural beauty and First Nations heritage.

View Holidays

British Columbia offers unparalleled opportunities to delve deep into North American habitats with some of the best wildlife watching and most dramatic landscapes on the continent. It’s also a province with rich indigenous cultures and delicious food and drink, offering unforgettable experiences for nature-lovers, adventurers and gourmets alike.

The gateway city of Vancouver is one of the world’s most beautiful and diverse, while the capital Victoria on the south of Vancouver island is an elegant trip back in time and great base for whale-watching. Through the Cowichan Valley to the ‘salmon capital of the world’ Campbell River and across to Tofino and Ucluelet on the Pacific Rim, the wilds of Vancouver Island contain rich rainforest with bear lodges and endless trails.

Across the bay on the mainland, The Sunshine Coast’s isolated inlets and islands are breathtakingly beautiful, especially the enchanting calm of Desolation Sound.

The Great Bear Rainforest is one of the world’s greatest wildernesses, covering over six million hectares towards the Alaskan border, famous for its white Spirit Bears, considered sacred by the First Nations.

North-east of Vancouver the landscape gets ever more rugged past the winter sports hub of Whistler to the Thompson Okanagan region, including the dramatic Thompson River Valley, the waterfalls of Wells Gray, and the lush wine region of Okanagan.

In the east of the province, the foothills lead up to the Kootenay Rockies, Yoho National Park with its unforgettable Emerald Lake and towering Mount Robson, the highest peak in the region.
