Pacific Northwest

Overview & Highlights

One of the world’s premier wine destinations, the Pacific Northwest has achieved international recognition for its exquisite new world wines and accounts for around 90% of the USA’s wine production. Stretching from California’s Bay Area deep into the verdant valleys of Oregon, this journey will take you through each world-renowned location – starting in San Francisco and ending in Portland – resulting in an in-depth tour for true wine aficionados.

First up is San Francisco. One of the world’s most famous cities, you’ll get to see it from the Golden Gate Bridge and the heart of the city’s centre. You’ll then continue to California’s internationally-renowned wine country for three days to stroll through leafy vineyards, sip award-winning wines and dine at some of the finest restaurants in America in Napa Valley and Sonoma. Next you’ll head to Mendocino with its beautiful coastal living and distinctive varietals grown in Anderson Valley. You’ll stay there for two nights before driving up to the nature-filled city of Redding, where you can even visit one of California’s incredible national parks before arriving in the southern tip of Oregon’s wine country, Grants Pass. The next two days will be spent in the historic town of Sisters, with its stunning scenery and local breweries that are as old as Oregon itself. You’ll then cross back into the rolling hills, meandering roads and endless greenery of Willamette Valley – widely considered the heart of Oregon’s wine production – for a night or two in the historic town of Newberg. You’ll be just minutes away from over 80 wineries specialising the region’s complex Pinots. Your final stop is Portland. America’s leafiest capital, you’ll get to experience its natural beauty and delightful farm-to-table dining and drinking – toasting to what will have undoubtedly been a wonderful trip.
