Overview & Highlights
California is responsible for 85% of the USA’s wine production, and its internationally renowned wine country in the northern part of the state is a must-visit for any wine aficionado.
Boasting around 800 wineries and tasting rooms, Napa Valley and Sonoma have an intimate, country feel with charming downtowns, elegant lodgings and row upon row of vineyards spread across the land. Your time will mainly be spent in these two beautiful adjacent valleys with your journey beginning and ending in the iconic West Coast city of San Francisco.
Arrive in one of the world’s most famous cities: San Francisco. You’ll get to see it from the Golden Gate Bridge and the heart of the city’s centre while getting a literal taste of its local culture. Before leaving, you’ll even having the opportunity to see some of the Bay Area’s greatest landmarks and make time for your own city-wide exploration, fitting plenty in to your three days in San Francisco.
You’ll then drive to California’s wine country, just an hour away, to stroll through leafy vineyards, sip award-winning wines and dine at some of the finest restaurants in America for four relaxed days in Napa Valley and Sonoma. Round off your stay with a 3-hour ride and fine dining aboard the original 1864 Napa Valley Wine Train – there’s no more memorable way to toast your trip.
