San Diego FAQs

Find out all you need to know about visiting San Diego.

When is the best time to visit San Diego?

Boasting over 260 days of sunshine a year, and known for its consistent, warm weather, there’s never really a bad time to visit San Diego. That said, some months are better for travelling than others, and the best time to visit San Diego is between March and November. The shoulder seasons of spring and autumn afford fewer crowds and mild temperatures with highs between 19°C-21°C from March to May and highs between 21°C-25°C from September to November. Autumn in particular has plenty of events and festivals to attend, making San Diego an ideal place to extend the summer holidays. The summer months of June to August are pleasantly warm with ocean breezes tempering the daytime highs of 26°C, perfect for a summer holiday. Winter in San Diego is the low season as the ocean’s waters become too cold for swimming. Daytime highs reach 19°C and nighttime lows hit 10°C making the months between December and February ideal for a temperate city break.
