Guided Indian Canyons Walking Tour

Take a guided tour through a desert oasis in Palm Springs’ Indian Canyons.

Situated only a few miles from downtown Palm Springs, and nestled at the base of the San Jacinto Mountains, the Indian Canyons offer an awe-inspiring landscape that is unmissable if you are in the Palm Springs area. Hike through lush palm groves, stunning rock formations and refreshing, cool streams in the ancestral homeland of the Agua Caliente Band of Cahuilla Indians. On this 3-hour private tour, you will be led by a naturalist guide through lush oases filled with more than 150 species of plants: where desert paths contrast with the vibrant greens of magnificent California fan palms. You’ll hear facts about the native flora and stories about the culture and beliefs of the Cahuilla Indians, who still inhabit Indian Canyons to this day.

The Indian Canyons offer a beautiful escape in nature year-round, but the best time to go is between October and June when the canyons are open every day. July to September hours of operation are limited to weekends due to the sweltering summer heat.
