May to October is the best time to visit the coast of British Columbia and Vancouver Island with the warmest weather and the most sunshine. Summer (June-August) is the warmest, sunniest period, while June to September is the best time to watch bears and whales. Weather tends to be wetter on the coast outside summer with milder and wetter winters than in the Rockies.
